We are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership between Maricopa Community Colleges and Save the Family’s Phoenix Scholar House.

Phoenix Scholar House is a newly developed, multi-family housing community created to support single-parent students as they pursue their educational and career goals. The program follows a two-stage model that combines affordable housing, on-site supportive services, and access to education—empowering participants with the tools they need for long-term stability and success.

Program Overview

How It Works:

  • Stage One: Pre-residential phase focused on academic readiness. Participation in this stage is required before advancing.
  • Stage Two: Residential phase offering affordable housing and continued wrap-around support services.

Eligibility Requirements:

Participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED
  • Be a single parent with primary custody of their child(ren)
  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in a post-secondary institution
  • Be employed (part-time or full-time)
  • Meet income qualifications
  • Complete the application and interview process

Supportive Housing from Chicanos Por La Causa helps individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness by:

  • Finding and keeping housing: Navigation to secure, stable, and affordable homes.
  • Personalized housing plans: Work with individuals and families to develop tailored housing plans for long-term success.
  • Navigation of programs: Assist in accessing and navigating local, state, and federal housing programs.
  • Tenant advocacy: Information on tenant rights resources.
  • Community connection: Helping residents integrate and build relationships within their community.

Overall, it addresses housing barriers and supports long-term housing stability.
